Bring your antique tractor–restored or field ready! Preferably tractors at least 20 years old, to travel approximately 55 miles for a 10 MPH ride throughout Northern Custer County. Meals are provided.
Registration is $60. Will be $75 after July 6th.

The golf tournament in Cozad in conjunction with Cozad’s Bands Brews & BBQ’s. The 2nd annual tournament will be a four person scramble, $50 per person, $200 per team with registration at 8 AM and a shotgun start at 10 AM.

Omaha Chaser tickets will be given away to some lucky recipients as door prizes. Bosselman’s and National Wild Turkey Federation have provided door prizes as well.

Archway Free Family Fishing Event – Kearney @ The Archway

Archway Free Family Fishing Event at I-80 Exit 275 in Kearney, NE, will team up with the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission to present a free family fishing event on the Archway’s ponds. The event will be held from 6:00pm – 8:00pm. No previous experience is required and the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission supplies the poles and tackle.

“Several families came out to our fishing event last month and we all had a great time,” says Archway Event Coordinator Jill Epley. “We enjoy working with beginners and experienced anglers of all ages”

No registration is required. Signage near the Archway entrance will direct participants to the eastern end of the Archway’s ponds where the group will meet at the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission’s trailer to gather supplies and get started.

“It’s a fun, inexpensive way for families to get outside and enjoy fishing together,” says Epley, “Come out and have some fun!”

From the Oregon Trail era to today, the Archway’s family-friendly exhibit brings the story of the Great Platte River Road to life. Walk the pioneer trails. See the Pony Express. Experience the Transcontinental Railroad. Hear stories of the Lincoln Highway and much more. Both entertaining and educational, The Archway is a must-see adventure for visitors of all ages.

Meet former NASA Astronaut Clayton Anderson, and learn about the journey of this smalltown Nebraska boy who spent time in space! Spending 152 days floating above our beautiful planet changes one’s “orbital” perspective of the spaceship we call Earth.

Through photos taken during his expedition to the International Space Station (ISS), Anderson provides an entertaining and reflective discussion of life onboard the United States’ most complex technical achievement. The presentation focuses on how this life changing experience led to a strengthening of his personal faith.

VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System senior leadership will hold a Veterans’ Town Hall beginning at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 17, at the United Veterans Club’s North Room in Grand Island, Nebraska. The United Veterans Club is located at 1914 West Capital Avenue in Grand Island. Among the topics to be discussed are the implementation of the VA’s new Mission Act, an infrastructure update on VA NWI’s various hospitals and clinics, the organization’s ongoing whole health initiatives and its newly implemented Veterans Transportation Service. The VA town hall is designed to promote open and honest feedback from Veterans, their family members and other beneficiaries. Senior leadership and other subject-matter experts from the local VA health system will be present to improve communication with and hear directly from Veterans and their families. VA also welcomes input from Congressional stakeholders, Veteran Service Organizations, nongovernmental organizations and other community partners at the meeting. Following the town hall, representatives from various VA programs will be available for those Veterans not currently enrolled in the VA health care system. “Caring for Veterans is a calling, and our first commitment is to provide Veterans and their families the timely, quality care and benefits they have earned and deserve through their service to our nation,” said B. Don Burman, director of VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System. “Our town hall meetings are designed to open new lines of communications with our Veterans, the families and their caregivers so that we can provide them that care.
